ATCO

Hydrogen 101

A children's educational video for ATCO, shot in one full day on a discovery-space set that Jungle Creative's art department built inside ATCO's staff kitchen.

Agency: Rare

For ATCO, Perth creative agency Rare engaged Jungle Creative for educational video production in Perth: Hydrogen 101, a children's educational video that makes an energy topic approachable for curious kids. Working from ATCO's own script, Jungle Creative filmed and edited the piece, delivering a single hero video built for digital, social and corporate use.

The whole production was captured in one full shoot day. Jungle Creative's art department transformed ATCO's staff kitchen into a children's discovery space, a purpose-built set that gives the hydrogen education video a world of its own while keeping the shoot on ATCO's premises. On camera, an ATCO presenter explains hydrogen to a group of children, and their questions and reactions carry the story. A full crew of director, producer, DOP, two videographers, audio technician, gaffer and best boy made the most of the single day.

Educational video production for children is a specialised craft: the content has to be clear, warm and genuinely engaging without talking down to its audience. For energy companies and organisations across Western Australia that need to explain complex ideas simply, Hydrogen 101 shows how Jungle Creative combines art department, cinematography and editing to turn a staff kitchen into a classroom worth watching.
